Senior Management
Jason P. Oden
Vice President, Exploration Manager
Mr. Oden is a Canadian citizen and was educated at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada with a B.Sc. (Geophysics). He has twenty years of experience in domestic and international exploration. Mr. Oden started his career in 1984 as an Exploration Geophysicist with Suncor Inc. in Calgary. He relocated to Melbourne, Australia in 1991 to join BHP Petroleum (later BHP Billiton Petroleum). Mr. Oden progressed through a number of technical roles with BHPB Billiton, primarily working in offshore basins in Australia, the Gulf of Mexico and West Africa. Mr. Oden returned to Australia in 2001 as Australian Operated Asset Team Leader, and in 2003 became Team Leader for Trinidad and Tobago Operated Exploration. In 2005 he joined Gulfsands Petroleum as the Exploration Manager. He is the Senior Technical Officer in the organization and is currently based in Houston Texas, USA.

Marwan Bashour
Senior Advisor
Mr. Bashour is a Syrian National and holds a B.Sc. in Geology from Damascus University. In 1968, he became a Well site Geologist in the Hassakih oil field and was the head of the Well site Geology section for GIBBISA Oil Fields in 1972. He advanced to the Head of Reservoir Engineering Hassakhi Oil field in 1983 and became the Technical Deputy Manager in 1985. Mr. Bashour next became the Planning and Service Contracts Manager of the Syrian Petroleum Company. In 2003 he joined Devon Energy as a Technical Advisor. He joined Gulfsands in 2005 as a Contract and Technical Advisor and has advanced to the position of General Operations Manager.

Khalid Mugharbel
Operations Manager
Mr. Mugharbel is a Syrian National and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkley. He has spent the last 16 years working with Schlumberger Oilfield Services throughout the Gulf Region and East Asia. Most recently Mr. Mugharbel was Schlumberger's General Manager -- V.P. of Arabian Geomarket before joining Gulfsands Petroleum in July 2009. Mr. Mugharbel is GPSL's Operations Manager and also General Manager of DIJLA Petroleum, the group's joint venture with the Syrian National Petroleum Company and responsible for developing and operating the Khurbet East Field, Block 26, Syria. Mr Mugharbel is based in Damascus.

Richard A. Bresler
Vice President Project Engineering
Mr. Bresler is an American citizen. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas. He has twenty eight years of experience in project management, project engineering, and business development for both onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. Mr. Bresler's career started in 1979 at Phillips Petroleum Company as a Staff Process Engineer. In 1984 he moved to Arco Oil And Gas Company as the Senior Facilities and Business Development Engineer until 1991. From 1991 -1993 he was the Project Manager for Tech Transfer Inc. In 1993 -- 1998 he served as the Project Manager and Engineer with Paragon Engineering Services Inc. Mr. Bresler then continued working as a Project Manager for Worley International Inc from 1998 until 2001 where he began at ABB Lummus Global as a Project Manager and Manager of Project Engineering. Mr. Bresler joined Gulfsands Petroleum 2007 and holds the position V.P. Project Engineering.

Ian Conway
Vice President, Petroleum Engineering
Mr Conway is a British citizen and holds a BA and MA in Physics from Oxford University, and an MSc in Finance from London Business School. He has 22 years of experience in petroleum/reservoir engineering, technical leadership and commercial roles.

Mr Conway has worked extensively on reservoir development studies in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He started his career with BP Exploration in 1985, progressing through a number of technical, commercial and operational roles. In 1993 he joined Maersk Oil International as a Senior Reservoir Engineer. Following a period as an independent consultant, he joined ExxonMobil International Ltd in 2002, reaching the position of Lead Reservoir Advisor for the UK and Netherlands. Mr Conway joined Gulfsands Petroleum in 2009 and is currently based in London.

Mazen Mouhanna
Deputy General Manager
Mr. Mouhanna is a Syrian National and holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering as well as a M.Sc. in Computer technology from the University of Florida -- GW University. From 1985 to 1994 he worked in General Trading with Romania and ex-Yugoslavia providing raw materials to factories under the Ministry of Industry in Syria. He then began consulting and acquired a contract with the Ministry of Electricity where he provided local technical consulting and services in Italy and Spain. Mr. Mouhanna continued his consulting with Ocean Energy Inc. In 2003 he became the Deputy General Manager of Devon Syria LTD and in 2005, began working for Gulfsands under the same position.

Dr. Nimr A. Arab
Technical Advisor
Dr. Arab is a Syrian National and holds a B.Sc. in Geology, a M.Sc. in Applied Science from Birmingham University and his Ph.D. in Geophysics from Leicester University. Dr. Arab has over thirty five years of experience in the Petroleum industry. From 1972-1982 he worked with the Syrian Petroleum Company and then as a Geophysicist for both Seltrust Engineering Ltd. and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources until 1998. Dr. Arab spent the next five years working as an Exploration Manager and Technical Liaison at Shell in Syria. He is a member of both the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy and the Engineering Council in London. Dr. Arab joined Gulfsands in 2005 as a Technical Advisor.

Mike Green
Geological Advisor
Mr Green is a British citizen with 31 years experience in petroleum geology. Graduating in 1978 with a BSc (Geology) from the University of Leicester, he has worked on exploration and production projects in NW Europe and Scandinavia and the South Atlantic margin of Africa.

Mr Green recently joined Gulfsands Petroleum in London with the role of Geological Advisor. His previous position was Exploration Manager (UK) for Antrim Resources (NI) Limited, with responsibility for UK North Sea activities. Mr. Green developed his oil industry career in a variety of senior geological roles in the major oil companies Total, Petrofina and Phillips Petroleum Europe-Africa.

Sabih J. Noori
Drilling Manager
Sabih J. Noori is an Iraqi National and was educated at the University of Bagdad where he obtained his B.Sc. in Petroleum and Minerals Engineering. Mr. Noori has thirty one years of experience in drilling operations, engineering and planning. He has planned and designed onshore and offshore oil and gas wells. Mr. Noori began his career in 1976 with the Iraq National Oil Company. From 1977 to 1981, he was the Drilling Supervisor for the Iraq National Oil Company and in 1981 he became the Drilling Supervisor for the Syrian Petroleum Company. With the (SPC) he held such positions as Senior Drilling Engineer and Head of Drilling Engineering and Operations. From 1995 -- 2005 he working for the Deir Ez Zor Petroleum Company, Petronas Carigali Company, and Weatherford Oil Tool M.E. LTD in various Senior Drilling positions. Mr. Noori joined Gulfsands Petroleum in 2005 as Drilling Manager.

Nour Aldin Khuluki
Senior Petrophysicist
Mr. Khuluki is a Syrian National and was educated at the University of Damascus with a B.Sc. in Applied Geology. Mr. Khuluki has thirty seven years of experience in Petroleum Engineering. He spent eleven years with AlFurat Petroleum Company as a Petrophysical Engineer and a Technical Director. From 1996 -1999 Mr. Khuluki was the Exploration Manager for the Syrian Petroleum Company. He then spent seven years as a Drilling and Production Expert for the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries. Mr. Khuluki joined Gulfsands Petroleum in 2007 as the company's Sr. Petrophysicist.

Ziad Hodeifa
Senior Seismic Interpreter
Mr. Hodeifa is a Syrian National and he holds a B.Sc. in Geophysics from Damascus University. His career started as a Seismologist with the CG Seismic Crew in 1987. He then joined Syria Shell Petroleum Development B.V. in 1988 as a Geophysical Assistant and 2D/3D Seismic Interpreter. In 1997 he moved to Shell International Technology and Research in Holland and was a 2D/3D Seismic Interpreter. Mr. Hodeifa continued his career as a Senior Seismic Interpreter for Syria Shell Petroleum Development B.V. In 2003 he became the Senior Seismic VSP Processor for Schlumberger Syria. Mr. Hodeifa joined Gulfsands Petroleum in 2006 as a Senior Seismic Interpreter.

Hasan Hamadeh
Senior Production Geologist
Mr. Hamadeh is a Syrian National and was educated at Damascus University with a B.Sc. in Applied Geology. He began his career with AFPC Syria in 1988 as a Well site Geologist. In 1996 he transitioned into a Production Geologist and Petrel Modulator for AFPC. In June of 2005 he joined Dove Energy as a Production Geologist and Petrel Modulator in Yemen. Mr. Hamadeh joined Gulfsands Petroleum in 2007 and is currently the Senior Production Geologist.
